MY MISSION

"The therapeutic value of one addict helping another
is without parallel." [Narcotics Anonymous, Basic Text]

Recovery often begins with a single conversation.

For many addicts, reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. Fear, shame, uncertainty, and hopelessness can create barriers that seem impossible to overcome. Yet time and time again, recovery has shown us a simple truth: "one addict helping another is without parallel" (-Narcotics Anonymous, Basic Text)

As a Peer Support Advocate, I offer free support services to individuals struggling with addiction, those seeking recovery, and people trying to rebuild their lives after active addiction. My role is not to judge, diagnose, or tell anyone what they should do. My role is to walk alongside them, share hope, provide encouragement, connect them with resources, and help them discover that recovery is possible.

I believe that every addict deserves the opportunity to find a new way to live. Many people entering recovery feel lost and unsure of where to begin. They may need help navigating treatment options, finding recovery meetings, accessing community resources, developing healthy support systems, or simply having someone who understands what they are experiencing. Through peer support, I strive to provide that connection.

Advocacy is at the heart of what I do. I work to empower individuals to become active participants in their own recovery journey. Rather than creating dependence, the goal is to help people build confidence, develop life skills, and strengthen their ability to make informed decisions. Recovery is not just about stopping substance use; it is about creating a meaningful, productive, and self-sufficient life.

My hope is that the connection we establish becomes the first step toward long-term recovery and independence. Every person has the capacity for growth and change. Sometimes all it takes is one person extending a hand and saying, "I've been there, and you don't have to do this alone."

The principle of one addict helping another has transformed countless lives and continues to be one of the most powerful forces in recovery. If you are struggling, know that help is available, hope is real, and recovery is possible.

Together, we can take the first step.
