God Does Walk-Ins Only

I’m a Christian woman in NA, and I’m in full recovery scheduling mode. I’m talking color-coded calendar, reminders, alarms for reminders of reminders. If it’s not scheduled, it basically doesn’t exist in my life.

Meetings? Scheduled. Appointments? Scheduled. Downtime? Scheduled. “Don’t spiral today”? Scheduled twice, just in case.

The problem is spiritual principles do not respect my calendar at all.

Humility shows up like an unexpected pop-up notification: “Just checking—you good, or are you still pretending you’re in control?” Right when I’m feeling productive.

Patience is God taking my perfectly planned day and putting it on “processing…” like a buffering screen with no percentage bar. And I’m just sitting there like, “Okay… I have things to do though.”

And forgiveness? That one interrupts everything. I can be fully booked with “staying spiritually mature,” and God is like, “We’re going to go ahead and release that offense right now.” Sir, I had it scheduled for never.

But somehow I still stay clean.

Not because I’m naturally spiritually advanced—but because I show up, follow direction, and keep trying even when God is clearly laughing at my calendar.

So I’m plain Jane—organized, scheduled, in recovery… just learning that humility, patience, and forgiveness are not optional appointments, and apparently God does walk-ins only.
